TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF INDIVIDUAL SALE - MSM 1888
The provisions set out in these General Terms and Conditions of Sale (hereinafter referred to as "the GTCS") apply to direct sales (made online, by telephone, by email or directly on site) by MSM 1888 (a simplified joint stock company with a single shareholder and capital of €78,000,000.00, having its registered office at 91, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris, registered in the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 489 358 366), also known as Groupe La Mère Poulard, to provide hotel services at Mont Saint-Michel (hereinafter referred to as "the Services") to its non-professional customers (hereinafter referred to as "the Customers") in the establishments of MSM 1888 (Auberge La Mère Poulard, les Terrasses Poulard, Auberge du Mouton Blanc, les Terrasses de la Baie, le Relais Saint-Michel, la Digue, le Saint-Aubert). Any deviation from these GTC must be expressly accepted in writing by MSM 1888.
Our general terms and conditions of sale comply with the provisions of article R.211-1 of the French Tourism Code and are valid from May 2025.
Booking and cancellation conditions
Online Reservations for Services (hereinafter referred to as "the Reservation") are made in accordance with the conditions set out in articles L.211-3, R.211-4 and R.211-6 of the French Tourism Code and article 1369-11 of the French Civil Code.
Any Reservation of a Service by the Customer implies the prior, complete and total consultation and acceptance of the GTC in force at the time of the said Reservation. The Customer has the option of saving and editing the GCS using the standard functions of their browser or their computer, tablet or smartphone.
Customers may book a maximum of four (4) rooms per reservation on the Website, on an individual basis and for their personal needs. For reservations for business groups, meetings, seminars, etc., please visit the Groups and Seminars section of the mymontsaintmichel.com website.
The customer is solely responsible for his choice of services and their suitability for his needs, and MSM 1888 cannot be held liable in this respect.
Children aged 15 and over are considered adults. When making a Booking, the Customer must enter in the "number of adults" field all persons aged 15 and over.
ANCV dematerialised holiday vouchers are not accepted at the time of booking.
Non-dematerialised holiday vouchers are accepted on site for the balance and any extras.
Articles L.121-21 et seq. of the French Consumer Code relating to the right of withdrawal do not apply to the provision of accommodation services.
Special conditions of sale and cancellation
Once the Reservation has been taken into account under the conditions set out in articles 1 and 2 of the General Terms and Conditions, any partial or total cancellation of the Service will incur the following charges:
For all "non-cancellable, non-changeable" Reservations :
The total amount of the stay must be paid by the Customer at the time of Booking. This amount is non-refundable, for any reason whatsoever (cancellation, change of holiday dates, no show, early departure, etc).
For all Bookings with "flexible rates" (excluding special conditions and promotions) :
○ Free cancellation up to 3 days before arrival and before midnight
○ Less than 5 days before arrival and/or in the event of no-show: 1 night based on room and breakfast for 2 people will be charged and is non-refundable.
In the event of cancellation entitling you to a refund, and if you have paid all or part of the Reservation online, this amount will be returned to you (with the exception of non-cancellable, non-refundable offers).
Interruption of the stay by the customer
Early departure, for whatever reason, will not give rise to any reimbursement by MSM 1888.
Cancellation by MSM 1888
In the event of cancellation on the part of MSM 1888, without an equivalent alternative solution being offered, the Customer will be reimbursed without delay for all sums paid.
Bank card debit
Payments must be made using one of the cards below, via our secure web pages. Your credit card details will be encrypted using SSL (Secured Socket Layer) protocol up to 128 bits. Your credit card details can never travel unencrypted over the internet.

Any extras (bar, telephone, etc.) that are not explicitly included in the prices will be payable directly on site and will be invoiced.
Included for all direct bookings
All Reservations entitle the holder to :
○ Accommodation, depending on the room category chosen
○ Breakfast, except at the Saint-Aubert
○ Unlimited WiFi
○ VAT
Our prices do not include tourist tax, the amount of which, per adult per day, is set by the municipality and may change without notice.
Provision and return of rooms
The room will be available from 16:00 on the day of the Customer's arrival at the earliest and must be vacated by 11:00 on the day of departure at the latest. Any room not vacated by 11:00 a.m. will give rise to the invoicing of an additional night.
Luggage storage is available to make the most of your first and/or last day on the island.
Room occupancy
The Customer undertakes to occupy the rooms in a prudent and reasonable manner. Any behaviour that is contrary to good morals and public order may lead MSM 1888 to demand the immediate departure of the Customer and may result in the cancellation of the Service to the detriment of the Customer. In the event that the Customer has not yet paid for the entire Service, he must pay the full price before his departure. Each room is intended for a specific number of occupants and may under no circumstances be occupied by a greater number of people. Please note that infants are considered to be occupants in their own right. We reserve the right to refuse access to the room to groups or families arriving with a number of participants greater than the capacity of the room reserved.
Pets
Pets are allowed (except category 1 and 2 pets, which are not accepted), at a cost of €16/night per pet (maximum 2 per accommodation). They must be declared at the time of booking. They must not disturb the peace and safety of guests and must respect basic rules of hygiene and the integrity of the facilities. They must always be kept on a lead when they leave the rooms. Pets are also allowed in the restaurant, provided they are kept on a lead at all times. Large dogs must be muzzled or wear an equivalent device to ensure the safety and tranquillity of all. In the event of failure to comply with these rules, MSM 1888 reserves the right to demand the departure of the pet and the Customer.
Luggage option
A luggage transport service may be offered as an option, subject to an additional charge specified at the time of booking. This option, subject to availability, includes one (1) item of luggage per person (excluding small bags or satchels), up to a maximum weight of 20 kg per person. If this weight is exceeded, a supplement may be applied, according to the fare conditions in force. Any additional or excess baggage may be refused or subject to an additional charge. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that their baggage complies with the above conditions.
Damage
The equipment and facilities of the MSM 1888 Hotels must be used in accordance with their ordinary purpose. Any damage, loss or destruction of the furnishings shall automatically incur the liability of the person responsible. The Customer is personally liable for any damage, loss or deterioration to the Hotels caused by him/her or by persons staying with him/her or visiting him/her. The Customer must inform the establishment of any damage and undertakes to pay the cost of repairing the property.
Force majeure
MSM 1888 may release itself from its obligations or suspend their performance if it finds itself unable to fulfil them due to the occurrence of a case of force majeure. Force majeure is defined as any external event beyond our control that is both unforeseeable and insurmountable, preventing the Services from being carried out.
In the event of force majeure, the establishment reserves the right to accommodate the Clients, in whole or in part, in another MSM 1888 establishment or in a nearby hotel of equivalent category, for services of the same nature. The costs inherent in the transfer are borne by MSM 1888 and no additional compensation may be claimed.
Liability
MSM 1888 is responsible for the proper performance of all obligations resulting from the contract but may not be held liable in cases where the non-performance or poor performance of the Services is attributable to the Customer, or to the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party unrelated to the provision of the Services or in the event of force majeure as defined in article 1218 of the French Civil Code.
MSM 1888 shall not be held liable, beyond its legal responsibility, in the event of :
○ Theft, loss or damage of any kind, during or following a stay.
○ Breakdown or shutdown of technical equipment, breakdown or closure of facilities.
○ Damage caused or suffered by residents' vehicles parked and travelling within the La Caserne enclosure.
Insurance
MSM 1888 has taken out civil and professional liability insurance no. 6451289804 with AXA, which covers, in particular, the financial consequences that may fall to the insured party as a result of bodily injury, material and immaterial damage caused to Clients, Partners or third parties as a result of errors, mistakes of fact or law, omissions or negligence committed in the course of its business.
Minors
The MSM 1888 hotels are not part of a Holiday and Leisure Centre within the meaning of Decree no. 2002-883 dated 3 May 2002 and are not suitable for providing group or individual stays away from the family home for minors under the age of 18, unaccompanied by their legal guardians. As such, MSM 1888 refuses the right of access to the Hotels to minors under the age of 18 who are not accompanied by their legal guardians.
Disturbance and nuisance
The Customer is responsible for any disturbance or nuisance caused by him or by persons staying in his room or visiting him. If a Customer causes a disturbance or nuisance to other customers or damages the integrity of the facilities, MSM 1888 reserves the right to terminate the Service immediately and without compensation.
Claims
All complaints relating to the conditions in which the Service is provided may be made on the spot to the hotel reception to enable them to find an immediate solution.
Any post-stay complaint may be sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt to our head office: MSM 1888, BP 18 Grande Rue 50170 Le Mont Saint-Michel or by email to the reservations department: reservations@groupelamerepoulard.com, within one (1) month of the end of the stay, quoting the file number corresponding to the stay.

Personal data
For the purposes of processing data inherent in MSM 1888's commercial activity, it is hereby specified that MSM 1888 may collect, process and transfer passengers' personal data. Passengers have the right to access, modify, rectify and delete data concerning them, in accordance with the French Data Protection Act no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978.
Customers are invited to read the data protection policy on the MSM 1888 websites (www.lamerepoulard.com and www.mymontsaintmichel.com).
Applicable law and jurisdiction
The GCS are governed by French law. In the event of any dispute, the Coutances Commercial Court shall have sole jurisdiction.
